Glamour Puss - Layout

Image
Had an evening scrapping with Sarah and Tammy and here is my layout.  Got a mini album partly completed and hope to have that finished off in the next couple of days.  I constructed the base paper first, with modelling paste, textured pasted and sprays. I used prima stencils on Webster paper.  And mixed some gold paint in to one of the pastes.  I started with a Prima Julie Nutting tag, which I stencilled and then built the rest of the mat from there.  I stamped a couple of feathers around the edge and splashed some gold paint here and there.    I used 3 different coloured Heidi Swapp sprays  I used the kaiser letter die for my title.   Again I painted cardstock to get the letter colour that I needed.   I embellished with some beads and Heidi Swapp banner strips.  Happy scrapping. Family Favourites recipe Journal

Image
I made this journal as the guest artist for the NZ Paper chase Magazine.     I showcased recipes from my husband's grandmother and mother.  Each recipe is kept in a plastic slip and can be removed.                                                  I used some leather strips as fake hingers and also to wrap the journal when not in use.     I made extra recipe cards, which I store in a handmade box.  Hope you like. Happy scrapping.

Tranquil - The Studio challenge

Image
I have certainly met my scrap goal for this month.  While I was looking at a site that lists DT calls I found this challenge and could not resist.  The studio Challenge has monthly challenges and this is the one for January:  Today is a simple challenge, as its the new year we want you to do a bit of clearing up! Whats sat on your desk? Are there photos, papers or bits and pieces that have been sat there for ages waiting to be scrapped but you never seem to get around to using them? Now is your chance to use them and clear your desk! So I sat at my desk and only used what I could reach to complete this challenge,  unfortunately this does highlight that my desk possibly needs a little cleaning up.  To start I had 3 pages I had stencilled and inked a couple of days ago for a layout but I changed my mind about using these papers in that layout.  I instead cut the papers into 2.8in squares and patched them on to black card stock.     I had some tags that I had made a

21st Birthday Card - Nice and Simple

Image
It is not very often these days that we get an invite to a 21st, the difference now is that we are friends of their parents LOL. Here is a card that I have made for the occasion.  I used scrap paper to make up the 21 candles, and than journalled the flames and HP text.   Simple and, but I believe, effective.  Happy scrapping. Framed: Week 3 - 'Lets get Sketchy' Blog Challenge

Image
I have really enjoyed this blog challenge,  it really keeps you on your toes.   Here is the week 3 sketch:  This weeks sketch is by  Laura  and check out the awesome layouts design team A created with it on Lets get Sketchy . And yep here is my take on the challenge.   Sometimes transparancies are a great way to ensure that the focus is still on the photos and I love these photos.  The boys tooks such a long time just to get the frame in place.  We found this frame at the bach when we were cleaning it out.   It will go back to the beach one I have cleaned it up and oiled it.  Anyway, moving on, I used some transparanies from project life as the matt for the photos and stamped the inner border and back ground and good old Tim Holtz paper as the base.                               I inked and placed some small frames as embellishments. Hope you like.  Happy scrapping. Jonnece

I love you - Week 2 - 'Lets get Sketchy' Blog challenge

Image
I know,  I feel like I am on a bit of a roll lately.  The sun is shining,  the kids are busy being on holiday and I have a little time in the evening to sit back and scrap a little.   For the   week 2 challenge for "Lets get Sketchy'   the following  Jenessa Franco's Sketch was provided for inspiration     And here is my layout  (and I added a little bit of a challenge myself as Gregor had a class on so I didn't want to interrupt by going in and out of my craft room every 5 minutes, so all I had upstairs was 2 piece of patterned paper and a stencil, Model paste, Gesso and kindy glitter.  I fussy cut out the flowers and leaves from one of papers and then kindy glittered and painted them with gesso.     I stencilled on the base paper and added a title.  Hope you like it,  Happy scrapping. My 3 Sons - Week 1 - Lets get Sketchy - sketch challenge

Image
Yep,  got home from work and needed to relax so decided to try the sketch challenge from Lets get Sketchy .  See here for the challenge rules.  Their  challenges are posted every Monday; entries are due by the last day of the month at midnight .  They randomly select a grand prize winner each month.  You MUST participate in at least 3 of our 4 weekly challenges to be eligible for the grand prize drawing.  I love the sketches 'and the challenge'. Here is my first layout.  This weeks sketch is by   Brenshevia .  For my take on the challenge I have rotated the sketch anti-clockwise.      I used a kaiser craft paper and misc papers from my stash.  I inked each mat and  added some leaf embellishments. A nice and simple layout and Kiwa loved it, which is what counts the most.      The photos are of my three beautiful boys (Arahi, Tira and Kiwa) taken over a period of 3 years.  All 3 are now in bed and time to really relax with a glass of wine.  Ho

I love the Christmas/New Year holidays here is New Zealand.  Everyone is relaxed and enjoying the sun, t he kids still have another 4 weeks before school starts and  I have a little more time up my sleeve to scrapbook.   My third layout for the year for the 'Sketchabilites' sketch challenge.   Here is the ' Sketchabilities ' sketch inspiration.   together with the following rules from WW1: White + the challenge colour, which is Placid Blue.  - These are the only 2 colours that can be used.  - You do not have to use white cardstock as the background colour but your layout needs to  be at least  85%  of white PLUS the one specified colour (Placid blue) AND black can be used (approx 5%) for journalling/stamping or accenting but  it is not to be the predominant colour on your page  If you need to see the rest of the rules, just check out the  WW1 Blog   I stenciled a couple of Kaiser Masked with Metallic ink   I used Prima and Tim Holtz embell

The following is a layout I have completed for ' PictureThis ! challenge Blog.  With New Zealand being the first country in the world to see the sun,  I get to start scrapping while the rest of the world are sleeping.  Hooray for NZ!.  Now its time to head off the beach for the afternoon.  'Picture This'  1st challenge for 2015 .... Picture This! - 1 photo + sunburst + paint I love the sunburst idea and here is my take:  I used Stampin up papers with Prima flowers and some bling.  I rolled the sunbursts and I used green MM scrapbook paint to paint a base for where I have placed the flowers.   I used a cutting from the Prima  flower packaging for the corner embellishment with some washi tape.    Hope you enjoy. My base is black cardstock, which I stenciled, using coloured model paste, on a couple of the corners.  On the main paper I stenciled a half circle of dots.   And I used a Tim Holtz cogs die.  And I embossed the cogs.      I hope you like it.  Happy scrapping everyone
