The results of a weekend away with the girls.

Don't you just love getting away with a group of like minded crafter.
I do, and the weekend was absolute fun.

and here is just one of the layout's I crafted.

In between jumping into the heated pool and spa.
(someone had too)
I used 2 prima stencils on the background.

This layout was inspired by the butterfly panel on the right hand side.
I loved the richness of the colours of the butterflies
Hope you like it,  pleae leave me a comment I love feedback.
I used modeling paste and mist sprays, inks and paints on the layout
together with some glass glitter.

The layout is matted on to card to give some stability and inked around the edges.

Happy crafting.

I have share this layout with:
Come check the blog out and join in the fun

The Wonder of Mixed Media Art.

Here is my first attempt at mixed media.

I used 2 canvases, Modeling paste, Inks, sprays, gesso, mod podge, dies and paints.

Most of all it was fun.

Here are a couple of close ups.

I love that I could just keep adding until I felt there was enough.

It is a wonderful thing to work in as you can just create
and recreate as you like the canvas is never really complete.
Even if you hang it on the wall you can take it down and keep adding.
Just a wonderful medium to work with

Hope you like it.  I certainly like making it.

Love to hear what you think.

I have share this with the following challenge, please come check them out.

DO-AL(l) Creatives - Challenge #11: The Pre Christmas Session

Challenge #11 for DO-AL(l) Creatives

So exciting getting so close to Christmas now.  Here in New Zealand that means sunny hot days, BBQ's, a Long school holiday for the boys and many trips to the beach.

Now the challenge this month from Do- Al (l) Creatives blog is:
The Pre Christmas season - Vorweihnachtszeit

I have use one of our sponsers images:

Digital Delights

And made a christmas cookie gift box and tag:

The box has a handy transparent cover.
I made some Choclate chip cookies and here is the recipe:

  • 200 g softened butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 egg
  • 2 ¼ cups flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 100 g white chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 100 g dark chocolate, roughly chopped

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C fan assisted or 180°C conventional. Cream butter, brown sugar and vanilla essence until light and fluffy, then beat in the egg.
  2. Mix in sifted flour and baking powder with chopped white and dark chocolate.
  3. Roll into balls and place on baking trays lined with baking paper, flatten a little with your hand. Leave room between each one to spread.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden. Remove from the oven and stand for 5 minutes before transferring the cookies to a cooling rack. When cold, store in an airtight container

Look forward to see your creations for this challenge.
